Accessibility

Norfolk County is committed to fostering an inclusive community by identifying and removing barriers faced by persons with disabilities and providing quality goods and services accessible to all persons we serve.

Accessibility standards

The Ontario Government has developed accessibility standards under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). Its goal is to make Ontario accessible for people with disabilities by 2025.

Ontario has accessibility standards in five areas:

  1. Customer Service
  2. Transportation
  3. Information and Communications
  4. Employment
  5. Design of Public Space / Built Environment
