OPP Detachment Board
Previously called Police Services Board
The OPP Detachment Board (known as the Police Services Board before 2025) determines the priorities and objectives for police services within the community.
This must be done in consultation with the Detachment Commander, but input should also be received from Council, municipal staff, and police officers assigned to the community and the public.
Norfolk County is governed by Section 10 of the Police Services Act. The relationship between the board and the municipal council is important. It is Council that enters into the written contract with the OPP and is responsible for the financial commitment.
The Board meets on the third Wednesday of every other month at 9:30 a.m. in the Norfolk County Council Chambers at the County Administration Building, Council Chambers, 50 Colborne Street, Simcoe, ON N3Y 4H3.
Board Members
Members are residents of Norfolk County appointed by the Province and Norfolk County. The current board members are:
- Kim Huffman (Chair), Council Member
- Linda Vandendriessche (Vice Chair), Council Member
- Michael Cruse, Citizen Member
- Adam Veri, Council Member
Deputations
Deputation requests are reviewed and placed on the next appropriate agenda at the OPP Detachment Board Chair's discretion.
