If you have fines issued after May 1, 2010, you may pay the total fine and reinstatement fee at a Service Ontario location. You will then be able to activate your driver’s licence the same day if there are no other outstanding requirements or restrictions.

If you have fines issued before May 1, 2010, you are required to make a payment at a Provincial Offences Court. After paying your fine, it will take between three and five days before you can visit a Service Ontario location to pay your licence reinstatement fee and activate your licence if there are no other outstanding requirements or restrictions.

If you make a payment online, please note that it may take up to 10 days before you can attend a Service Ontario location to pay the reinstatement fee.

If you need additional assistance, please contact your local Provincial Offences Court.

Court-ordered fines remain owing until paid. Even if your fine is old or you have claimed bankruptcy, you are still responsible for paying outstanding fines in full.

At any time, the court may apply enforcement actions, including licence suspension and garnishment of wages until the fine is no longer outstanding.

If you need more time to pay your court-ordered fine, obtain an Application for Extension of Time to Pay Fine (PDF) online or from any Provincial Offences Court office.

You can submit the completed form by email to poa@norfolkcounty.ca, by mail, or by delivering it in person to the address on the ticket. Walk-ins are welcome; however, appointments are encouraged to avoid long wait times.

The application will be considered by the Clerk of the Court. It is your responsibility to contact the court office within two weeks to determine if the extension was granted.

A defaulted fine is a fine that has not been paid by its due date as indicated in the Notice of Fine and Due Date. Pay your defaulted fine as soon as possible.
