Accommodation
Basic room
A basic room features a bedroom and bathroom that two residents share:
- Home-supplied bed, mattress, bedside table, closet, and comfort chair
- Space for a 32″ television (to be supplied by Resident/family) and other personal care items depending on care needs
- An entertainment unit
- Privacy curtain
- Window view of the outdoors
This type of accommodation can be used by a couple as both beds can be on the same side of the room (if preferred), with a sitting area on the opposite side.
Private room
A private room is a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom for one resident. All the same amenities with a basic room are provided. Private rooms have an additional charge, and rate reductions are unavailable.
Memory boxes
Memory boxes are located outside each Resident’s room. They are available for the resident or family to display personal items relevant to the Resident and as a means of room identification.
Tours
Please contact our Social Worker at 519-426-0902, extension 4219, for tour information.
Rates
The Ministry of Long-Term Care sets rates, and residents pay the applicable basic accommodation rate. Some residents may be eligible for a rate reduction based on a standard income test. Residents who prefer a private room are charged a “preferred accommodation charge” above the basic rate.
The provincial government covers the cost of all nursing and personal care services.
The current rates, effective July 1, 2024, are:
- Basic – $2,036.40 per month or $66.95 per day for part months
- Private – $2,909.36 per month or $95.65 per day for part months
Residents’ Bill of Rights
The Residents’ Bill of Rights is a provincial document that explains residents' rights and the home's responsibilities to respect, promote, and support these rights. This document is posted in the home, and a copy is provided to each Resident upon admission.
