About Budgets
Norfolk County provides many services you use daily, including garbage and recycling pickup, drinking water, fire and paramedic services, snow clearing, recreation services, and more. Norfolk County’s budget determines the level of service provided to residents and what infrastructure will be purchased, built and repaired.
Each fall, municipal staff review activities and plans for the year ahead and consider many factors while planning their budgets, including:
- The past year’s actual spending and if there is a need to adjust the operational budget
- Any new projects that require financing
- Potential new staffing requirements
- New equipment like trucks, computers, phones, tools, etc.
