- 4 bags of garbage per household
- 8 bags of garbage per commercial unit
- Weight limit of 18 kg (40 Ibs) per bag or container
When to put your garbage out

How to put your garbage out for collection
- All garbage must be bagged, including garbage in cans. Loose garbage will not be collected
- Have your garbage at the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day to ensure it is picked up
- Place your garbage at the curb's edge on your property, either on the grass or your driveway. Do not place it on the roadway
- Keep areas near your garbage clear of obstacles such as basketball and hockey nets
- In the winter, be sure your garbage is visible and not hidden by snowbanks
Items that will NOT be picked up as garbage
- Liquid waste of any type
- Leaves and grass clippings will NOT be picked up for landfill material. Please check the leaf and yard waste collection schedule for dates when this waste will be picked up in your area
- Household hazardous waste will NOT be collected. Learn more about how to register for household hazardous waste events
- Household electronics, computers, cell phones, printers, etc. will NOT be accepted. Learn more about retailer take-back programs
- Bulky Items will NOT be picked up at the curb but can be taken to the transfer stations (disposal fees apply), or you can schedule a pickup through the bulky item pickup program
- Christmas trees, whole or cut, will NOT be collected. Please take your tree to a Christmas tree recycling depot drop-off centre
