Following several amendments to the proposed 2024 Levy Supported Operating Budget by the Budget Committee, Council has approved the County’s 2024 Budget at the Council meeting held on January 24, 2024.
The approved 2024 levy increase of 7.7 percent will result in an increase of 6.3 percent on residential property taxes. This represents an annual increase of $216.19 for the median assessed residential property within Norfolk.
“We are not alone with many economic pressures facing the County being out of our control, but Council is committed to focusing on efficiency in order to be able to continue delivering valuable services to our residents,” said Norfolk Mayor Amy Martin. “The budget reflects thoughtful investments to provide essential services and community programming, while addressing the need to manage municipal assets and infrastructure.”
