Finalization of land transfer releases funds for housing regeneration strategy

Norfolk County has finalized the transfer of a parcel of land that will provide additional funding for the Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation’s Regeneration Strategy.

The 1.5-acre segment of land, located at the northwest corner of Ireland and Decou Roads in Simcoe, had been previously designated to the Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation and planned to be used for affordable housing.

“Norfolk County Council is committed to the Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation’s Regeneration Strategy, which strives to offer residents diverse, affordable housing opportunities,” said Norfolk Mayor Amy Martin. “The finalization of this land sale will enable the County to reinvest into activities that support affordable housing—something we know is vital in our community.”

The Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation is one of nine Local Housing Corporations in Ontario and the largest Community Housing provider in Haldimand and Norfolk. Learn more at hnhousing.ca.
