Key dates approach for municipal election
August 16, 2022 – With the 2022 municipal election fast approaching, residents should be mindful of some key information that comes with it.
Are you thinking of running to be Mayor, a councillor, or school board trustee? Anyone interested in running for office are reminded the deadline for candidate submissions closes Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. Interested candidates are encouraged to visit Norfolk’s Candidate Information Page.
Norfolk County is currently looking for residents to assist with the October 24 election, as well as advanced polls on October 8, 12, and 14, in a variety of locations across the municipality. Positions include location supervisor, deputy returning officer, tabulator officer, elections assistant/greeter, and backup worker. More can be found on the Norfolk County Election Job Page.
Are you registered to vote, or have you moved in the last four years and want to ensure you’re on the list? Please visit voterlookup.ca to ensure your information is up-to-date. VoterLookup.ca is also used to collect the names of all occupants in a household. This information is collected by MPAC and provided to municipalities and school boards to assist with planning purposes and to ensure voters receive a Voter Information Card for the 2022 municipal and school board election in the mail.
