Norfolk County announces Heidy VanDyk as General Manager, Corporate Services

 

December 19, 2022 – Norfolk County is pleased to announce that Heidy VanDyk will become the General Manager, Corporate Services, effective January 2023. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, VanDyk will lead the Accessibility and Special Projects, Corporate Customer Service and Communications, Financial Management and Planning, Information Technology, Purchasing, and Realty Services teams.

Heidy brings more than 24 years of progressive experience in the Norfolk community, including more than 10 years of municipal experience at Norfolk County. She has a proven track record of collaboration, developing a culture of excellence, and leading teams to achieve their priorities and expectations. Heidy most recently served as the Acting General Manager, Health & Social Services at Norfolk County. In this position, she provided guidance and leadership for Public Health, Social Services and Housing, Norview Lodge, as well as many other initiatives.

“I am passionate about local government and the important services that we provide to the residents of Norfolk County,” said VanDyk. “I look forward to working with the Norfolk team and the community in my new role as General Manager, Corporate Services.”

VanDyk will focus on key strategic priorities that include ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service across the organization.

“I am thrilled with this announcement,” said Al Meneses, Norfolk County’s Chief Administrative Officer. “Following a comprehensive search led by a third-party recruitment firm, where multiple qualified candidates were considered across numerous disciplines, Heidy was able to articulate a vision for the role and the Division that resonated with the search committee.  I am looking forward to working with Heidy in her new role in delivering on Council’s priorities.”

Heidy is a graduate of Western University’s Master of Public Administration – Local Government Program and Carleton University’s Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Norfolk County extends its appreciation to Kathy Laplante for her leadership over the past several months as the Interim General Manager, Corporate Services.
