Norfolk County launches 2025 Tree Giveaway

Norfolk County is pleased to announce the launch of its 2025 Tree Giveaway, with 350 native trees available to residents through a random draw held during Earth Week.

The giveaway launches Wednesday, April 16 and is open for a week until Wednesday, April 23. The initiative is designed to promote environmental stewardship, enhance green spaces, and increase Norfolk County’s tree canopy coverage as part of local climate action efforts.

Norfolk’s forestry department is facilitating this tree giveaway with support from the County’s climate change adaptation measures program, that helps build a greener, more resilient community.

Tree species available through the giveaway include red maple, sugar maple, white birch, eastern redbud, eastern flowering dogwood, Kentucky coffeetree, tulip-tree, and black cherry.

Residents are invited to enter the draw by completing a short online form. Entrants must be Norfolk County residents and commit to planting the tree on private property within Norfolk County, with permission from the property owner. Limit of one tree per household.

Winners will be contacted directly after the draw.

Residents are reminded to contact OntarioOneCall.ca before digging to ensure underground utilities are marked.
