Norfolk County launches digital newspaper database

Norfolk County Archives is pleased to announce the launch of a new online newspaper database, making decades of local history accessible to the public.

Since 2022, the Archives team have been digitizing local newspapers using advanced scanning technology. Supported in part by federal funding, over 60,000 pages of local newspapers, such as the Waterford Star, Delhi News Record, and Port Dover Maple Leaf, covering the years 1860 to 1971, have been uploaded to the platform.

The database offers keyword-searchable text, allowing users to easily explore Norfolk County’s rich history. More content will be added as the project progresses.

The database is accessible through the Norfolk County Heritage & Culture website at norfolkheritage.ca or directly at norfolkcountynewspapers.andornot.net/.
