Norfolk County mourns local firefighter who died in B.C.

Norfolk County staff and Council would like to express their sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Waterford native, Zachery (Zak) Freeman Muise, who was killed in the line of duty in British Columbia last week. Zak was a firefighter working in British Columbia to help fight the Donnie Creek wildfire.

“Norfolk County is saddened by the loss of this brave firefighter,” said Mayor Amy Martin. “Mr. Muise was helping to keep Canadians safe by battling western wildfires. We owe this courageous man our deepest gratitude.”

Those wishing to share condolences with Zak’s family are invited to post on his online Tribute Wall.
