Norfolk County is inviting input from residents and businesses on developing the new goals and actions for its 2023-2027 Economic Development Strategy.

The strategy will look at ways Norfolk County can build on our strong foundations to ensure long-term prosperity. The plan will be developed in two phases. The first phase will look at the current economic situation in Norfolk County and gather input on what priorities should be considered.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to provide their feedback on the strengths, challenges, and growth opportunities within Norfolk County by completing a short online survey, available now until July 30 at EngageNorfolk.ca. The County’s consultant, KPMG, will consolidate the survey results with other stakeholder input and background work as part of the first phase of the new plan.

“Feedback from Norfolk County residents and businesses is a critical step in the development of the next key actions for economic development in our community,” said Mayor Amy Martin. “The data gathered will provide valuable input as we map out future opportunities to empower Norfolk County to overcome challenges, maximize growth, and stay competitive.”

The second phase is the development of the Strategy that will empower the County to focus resources and activities to meet the goals and objectives set out in the findings from the engagement including the community’s input.

“The comments and suggestions received from our residents, business and visitors will be mission critical to the success of the Norfolk County economy going forward,” said John Regan Director, Strategic Innovation and Economic Development. “The new strategy will be going forward to Council this fall for approval and any budget impacts will be also included in the report along with relevant key performance indicators to ensure we are on track in what we said we would deliver.”

The survey will be available until July 30 at EngageNorfolk.ca.
