Week-long Community Days events begin on June 3

Norfolk County Community Days are back, and better than ever.

Following the success of last year’s first Community Day event, County staff have expanded the idea to last an entire week of fun for the entire family.

County to celebrate Pride Month with flag raising

Mayor Amy Martin and members of Norfolk County Council will raise the Pride Flag at the County Administration Building at 50 Colborne Street South in Simcoe on Wednesday, May 31 at 9 a.m. 

Norfolk County celebrates National AccessAbility Week

Norfolk County is proud to celebrate National AccessAbility Week (NAAW) from May 28 to June 3. 

The week celebrates the valuable contributions and leadership of individuals living with disabilities in Norfolk County and beyond – and highlights the work of people and organizations to create a more accessible, inclusive community. 

Watering restrictions begin in Norfolk County on May 15 

Effective today, water usage in urban areas will be restricted until September 15.

As per Water Restriction By-Law 2003-63, home and business owners in the areas of Courtland, Delhi, Port Dover, Port Rowan, Simcoe, St. Williams, and Waterford should only water lawns, plants, vegetables, flowers, etc. between the hours of 9 to 11 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.

Live captioning now available on Norfolk County meetings

Norfolk County’s meetings just got more accessible. Live streams will now feature live captioning to improve accessibility for people who are Deaf or hearing impaired. Viewers can turn on live captioning by selecting the “cc” icon in the bottom right corner of the live stream.

Norfolk County marking the King’s Coronation

Norfolk County is illuminating its Administration Building, at 50 Colborne Street South, green from sunset until midnight on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7, to celebrate the King’s coronation.   

Celebrate May is Museum Month with Norfolk County

In celebration of May is Museum Month 2023, the Norfolk County Heritage and Culture department is embarking on a County-wide exhibit titled Cantelon: The Life and Work of William Edgar Cantelon.
