Unique community partnership provides supportive housing in Norfolk County

The Canadian Mental Health Association, Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk Branch (CMHA) has partnered with the Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation, Norfolk County, and Norfolk General Hospital/Holmes House to provide an alternative location for the Addiction Supportive Housing (ASH) program in Simcoe.

What’s happening in Norfolk County for Family Day, February 19

Norfolk County is reminding residents of changes to programs and facility closures on Family Day, Monday, February 19. While many buildings, programs, and services are not open or running, there are several recreational opportunities for community members of all ages.

Community Grants Program opens February 1

Norfolk County will be accepting applications for the revamped Community Grants Program from February 1 until February 29, 2024. 

The improved application process has been revised to make it clearer, more transparent and linked to the County’s Strategic Priorities.   

Council approves 2024 Norfolk County Budget 

Following several amendments to the proposed 2024 Levy Supported Operating Budget by the Budget Committee, Council has approved the County’s 2024 Budget at the Council meeting held on January 24, 2024.

Heritage & Culture debuts new website

Norfolk County’s Heritage & Culture department has launched a new website that brings news and information, events, activities, displays, and more, together into one online destination. 

Section of Waterford trails remain closed

Demolition of Waterford’s decommissioned agricultural silos located at Nichol Street West and McCool Street is ongoing and expected to be completed by the end of February.

Update and clarification on the “NORFOLK” sign

During the most recent Panorama event, Norfolk County introduced a new sign to assist with tourism, branding, place-making, and revenue-generating efforts. The new “NORFOLK” sign was met with mixed emotions and feedback from the community, and various questions arose.
