Beginning Saturday, June 15, visitors to some of the lakeside communities in Norfolk County will be required to pay for parking until Labour Day, Monday, September 2. Paid parking aims to manage traffic flow and optimize parking availability during peak tourist seasons.
Duration and Hours:
- Duration: 11 weeks, from Saturday, June 15, to Monday, September 2
- Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
Locations:
Paid parking zones:
- Port Dover: Clinton Street parking lot, Lift Bridge Parking Lot, Harbour Street near the museum.
- Turkey Point: Cedar Drive from Turkey Point Road to Old Hill Road, along the main beach.
- Long Point: Erie Boulevard, Abigail Becker parking lot.
Cost:
- Parking fees are $4 per hour
Vendor and Payment Options:
- Visitors can pay for parking using the HotSpot app or by scanning the QR code provided in each parking area.
- Payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, or Debit Tap at designated pay terminals (please note that you cannot swipe your debit card).
- Cash payments will not be accepted.
Resident Permits:
- Resident permits will be available to Norfolk County residents or property owners for $35 per vehicle.
Fines:
- Vehicles parked without proper payment in designated paid parking zones will be subject to a $75 fine.
