To address recent water quality concerns, watermain flushing around Thomson Road, Kennedy Road, Atwood Crescent, and Virginia Avenue in Simcoe is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, and Wednesday, June 19.

Watermain flushing helps to remove debris and iron from the watermain.

Service disruption notifications will be distributed to affected residences prior to flushing. If inclement weather occurs, flushing will be rescheduled to the following day.

During the flushing period, residents:

  • may notice changes in water colour
  • are asked to refrain from using water
  • are advised not to use water for laundry during the flushing period, as it may stain clothes and cause erratic water pressure

After the flushing is completed, residents should run the first cold water tap after the water meter for 10 to 15 minutes or until the water clears.

Routine fall watermain flushing for all areas of the County will begin in September, with schedules posted in advance.

Norfolk County appreciates residents’ cooperation and understanding as efforts are made to improve water quality.
