Most Norfolk County offices will be closed to the public from Wednesday, December 25, 2024, to Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Offices will reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.  

Norfolk County Administration Buildings 

All administration buildings will be closed during this period.

Norfolk County Public Library 

All branches will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on December 24 and December 31 and closed on December 25 and January 1. Please note that the Waterford Leaf is closed on both December 24 and December 31.

Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit 

All branches will be closed during this period. For public health emergencies or hazards, such as outbreaks, food poisoning, meningitis, or rabies, please call our after-hours emergency phone number at 1-877-298-5888.  

Social Services and Housing 

Simcoe and Dunnville offices will be closed during this period. For crisis support, such as emergency accommodation, call the Victim Services Support Line at 1-800-264-6671.  

Recreation 

The Simcoe Recreation Centre and Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre will close at 3:00 p.m. on December 24 and December 31. Both facilities will be closed all day on December 25, December 26, and January 1, 2025. 

The Simcoe Seniors Centre will close at the end of the day on December 20 and will reopen on January 6, 2025. 

The Delhi Friendship Centre will be open on December 23 and December 30. It will be closed from December 24 to December 27, December 31, and January 1. Regular hours will resume on January 2. 

All arenas will close at 4:00 p.m. on December 24 and December 31. They will also be closed on December 25, December 26, and January 1. 

Norfolk County invites residents to join the New Year’s Bash at Talbot Gardens Arena on December 31 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required to attend. 

Special holiday skating and swimming schedules from December 23 to January 7 are available at NorfolkCounty.ca/HolidayRec 

Heritage and Culture 

All Norfolk County museums and the Norfolk County Archives will be closed from December 24 to January 3.

Celebrate the New Year at the Port Dover Harbour Museum’s Captain’s Polar Bear Levee on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, starting at 1 p.m. Admission by donation.  

Ride Norfolk 

Ride Norfolk will not operate on December 25, December 26, and January 1. Regular service will resume on December 27, 30, and 31.

ServiceNorfolk 

ServiceNorfolk will be closed during this period. Residents can use the Norfolk County Customer Service Portal online to submit non-urgent service requests at any time. Alternatively, residents can email askus@norfolkcounty.ca. Staff will reply to emails in a priority sequence when offices reopen.

Residents seeking emergency assistance regarding forestry, parks and facilities, public health, roads, water, sewer, and drainage, can call 1-877-298-5888.

For after-hours By-law Enforcement, the public may use the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) non-emergency line number at 1-888-310-1122.  

Transfer Stations 

Transfer stations will be closed on December 25, December 26, and January 1. Both facilities will operate regular hours from December 27 to 31.  

Waste Collection 

Waste collection will be delayed by one day during the weeks of December 25 and January 1.

Residents are encouraged to use the Recycle Coach app for personalized schedules and reminders.  

Essential and Critical Services 

All essential and critical services, including Fire and Paramedic Services, will continue to operate as usual.
