Rates
All facility rentals are based on user fee rates approved by Norfolk County Council. Rates vary depending on the type of function and room size selected. Rates are posted online on facility rental pages.
Amenities and services
Depending on the rental facility, we can provide tables and chairs, room set-up and take-down, kitchen facilities, parking and audio-visual equipment. Please confirm available services before booking your event.
Refunds
Refunds for facility rentals are dependent on the timeframe they are cancelled in:
- More than 14 days before the rental date, you are eligible for a 100% refund.
- 7-14 days before the rental date, a 50% refund is eligible.
- Less than 7 days before the rental date is not eligible for a refund.
Use of music
If live or recorded music is played at your event, we must collect and remit a licensing fee on your behalf for the right to play music. The fees are remitted to the Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada, which collects fees for the artists and record companies' performance rights.
These tariffs are based on the room capacity (not the number of people attending your function), and whether dancing will be included in the rental.
Alcohol
Some Norfolk County rental locations permit alcohol to be served. If you're planning to host an event with alcohol, you must follow several steps. Please see the Alcohol Policy for more details.
Liability insurance
When citizens are injured or damaged, they can seek financial compensation. Norfolk County requires general liability insurance coverage that ensures renters have insurance that will provide for investigation, legal defence, and, if required, settlement costs resulting from their event(s) at County facilities.
Anyone renting a Norfolk County facility for any activity must provide evidence of a minimum liability of $2 million and name Norfolk County as an "Additional Insured." Renters are encouraged to obtain insurance through personal policies, but insurance is also available through Norfolk County.
