Accessibility training and resources

All contractors, volunteers, persons who provide goods, services, or facilities on behalf of Norfolk County, and all persons who participate in developing policies must complete accessibility training under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), the Accessible Customer Service Regulation and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation.

  • As of January 1, 2010, businesses and individuals that Norfolk County has contracted to provide goods or services must ensure that their employees are trained to provide accessible customer service.
  • As of January 1, 2014, businesses and individuals must also be trained on the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation. Any person or organization that does business with or for Norfolk County must receive this training.

The following resources have been posted to provide volunteers, vendors, and service providers delivering services on behalf of Norfolk County with access to accessibility training materials and resources. Documentation summarizing the training contents and details of training dates and attendees must be submitted to Norfolk County upon request.
