  • Staying cool during heat warning - June 18, 2024

    As hot and humid conditions are expected throughout the week, the Medical Officer of Health is issuing a Heat Warning for the residents and visitors of Haldimand and Norfolk counties. The HNHU (Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit) recommends that people take steps to prevent heat-related illness.

  • Notice of Addendum for Rehabilitation of the Long Point Causeway - January 9, 2024

    In July 2019, Norfolk County completed a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for the Rehabilitation of the Long Point Causeway from Lakeshore Road to Erie Boulevard (the ‘Project’), including the replacement of the Long Point Causeway Bridge, to address deteriorating conditions and transportation needs along the corridor. An Environmental Study Report (ESR) was prepared to document the proposed design and MCEA process.

  • Notice of Study Commencement Simcoe-Townsend Water Supply System Municipal Class Environmental Assessment

    Norfolk County (County) has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to implement an approximately 20 km length transmission water main that connects Simcoe to the Townsend Water Supply System, to secure water supply from the Nanticoke Water Treatment Plant, including a new elevated water tank and booster station.
